Students Bring out their Best
Schools are incredibly busy this time of year with exams, assignments, performances and award ceremonies to celebrate the year’s achievements.
Jobmatch Employment is a big believer in supporting young people to be the best they can be, which means they regularly engage with schools to encourage students through bursaries.
This year, eight bursaries will be given to five schools in the region including Gympie State High, James Nash High, Cooloola Christian College, Victory High and the Flexible Learning Centre. These awards are given to students who exhibit exceptional effort and remarkable growth and determination to triumph over the various barriers they may have.
Kadel Heaton was the recipient at Gympie High in October. CEO Lesa Bell presented the special bursary,
“It was really a pleasure to take part in the awards at the school. It reminded me of the aspirations you have when you are this age. And if this bursary can offer someone a small step up and give them confidence and encouragement for the hard work they have put in, then on behalf of Jobmatch it makes me very proud.”
“I’d like to thank all the students who have pushed through and broken their own expectations this year. It’s important for young people to learn that if they apply themselves, they really can make a difference to their lives.”
As a locally owned specialist employment provider and registered NDIS provider, Jobmatch believes inclusivity is important, as is the recognition of individual strengths andaccomplishments of people with barriers in our community.
