Biggest Morning Tea

The Cancer Council fundraiser Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea held on Thursday May 23, 2024 brought together community groups, families and friends to help raise vital funds for those impacted by cancer.

When deciding to host a Big Morning Tea this year, Jobmatch wanted to do things a little differently and invited community to join them at Mary Street Centre stage for a free cuppa and cake, on them.

In difficult financial times not everyone has the opportunity to take part in a Biggest Morning tea, speaking on behalf of the organisation, CEO Lesa Bell said, “We thought maybe we can take the morning tea to the community.”

“It was a beautiful autumn morning where people joined in the morning tea and took the opportunity to catch up on the stage and under the trees in the heart of Mary Street. Donations exceeded our goal of $300 reaching a total of $398, which is outstanding. Thank you so much to everyone who took part in making it such a great day.”

The team at Jobmatch served cuppa’s and cake between 9.30am-11.30am free of charge, with donations made online and during the morning.

As a locally owned specialist employment provider and registered NDIS provider, Jobmatch believes inclusivity is important, as is the recognition of individual strengths and accomplishments of people with barriers in our community. Employment is great way to meet new people, learn skills and gain confidence in all aspects of life.
